I don't think it is dead. I think they maybe hurt themselves when ripping around to get free.

SEEN YESTERDAY
Spotted a hyena yesterday around 5:30pm with a snare around its neck at the corner of the S114 and the S25, walking on the S25 towards Crocodile Bridge
