Patience paid off there, Peej...what a trip! X#X X#X [O]
We honestly thought about not visiting the park any more as it would surely all be a bit of a let-down from there 0: 0:

Thanks Peter... yep the collars are annoying. I'm not sure how worth it they really are from a financial perspective...

Thank you Lis O0

We figured as much as well. It's probably very difficult to change target mid-hunt

After such an amazing previous day of sightings we decided to just head in for a morning visit on our third day, and see whether the lions were still around along the Kranskop valley.

Our first sighting of the day was a rather magnificent kudu bull in the early sunrise light ^Q^

Image

We skipped Ubejane and went straight along the main road where we found a few steenbok along the way O/\

Image

There was no sign of the lions other than spoor showing they had travelled down the valley but we did come across a gymnogene finding breakfast as well as an immature version later on

Image

Image

With no sign of the lions, the consensus was to head up to Rooiplaat, down the link road and then onto the Sonnenrust 4x4 trail to see if there was any sign of Angela and her cubs in that direction. Rooiplaat had the usual suspects

Image

Image

On the link road we saw a nice group of gemsbok O:V

Image

The link road also had a big troop of baboon. They run away quickly in MZ but this one turned to have a quick look before dashing off

Image

Ubejane had a peaceful scene at the main waterhole

Image

Sonnenrust was a pleasant drive but there wasn't much sign of life other than distant springbok, zebra & wildebeest. On the climb we found another steenbok hiding away O\/

Image

Sonnenrust always involves a stop at the ground squirrel dens close to the end of the loop O:V

The afternoon was spent back at the farm relaxing which was great X#X X#X

Was the kudu bull brown or is it the tricky early morning light?

Lovely bokkies and of course the squirrels ^Q^ ^Q^ Even gymnogene x 2 O/\

It seems that you really saw all the inhabitants of Mountain Zebra   O/\ O/\ O/\

Very picturesome again, Peej...a morning better on the nerves! :-0

How nice the gymnogenes on the rocks there, and it is a very big shaggy kudu! \O

I would love to see a camera at that waterhole! ..0..
