Punda area has one of the worst community snare problems in Kruger.

Update:
The baby elephant with the snare at Punda Maria was also found yesterday afternoon, darted and the snare removed.

Update
Earlier today an elephant was reported at Punda waterhole with a snare around the bottom of its trunkThe Anti-poaching unit was dispatched by helicopter to the scene. The elephant was darted and snare removed and is recovering well.
