



The poor butterfly is a Green-banded swallowtail Papilio nireus lyaeus
and the orange one is a Common dotted border Mylothris agathina agathina
A very tatty butterfly and the big Ladybirds have been ID'd by Toko as Ladybird Bugs - as against normal Ladybirds which are beetles.Lisbeth wrote:The first butterfly has the wings a bit worn![]()

It's been a fascinating experience, I had no idea there was such a variety of these creatures in such a small area. I don't know how many different creepies I've found in my garden but it must be more than 50 by now. The photography is pretty challenging too, and highly frustrating at times, especially when I see a new bug and it flies away before I can get the camera on it - like the Oriental Bee hawk-Moth a couple of weeks ago.Toko wrote:I love his photography and the enthusiasm for the smaller majority in the animal kingdom
