Very good, BT!

I see we share the affinity for waking up late! =O:

That waterbuck is huge! Any "full-frontal"?

The insects are grotesque, as always...

It was a slow start BC and it stayed slow for most of the trip!

Thanks Nan \O

I'm definitely a night-owl RP but not when I'm in the Park, we just took it easy the first day. Sorry, no full-frontal of the Waterbuck and insects are beautiful (mostly)!

Just goes to show what one can see by staying in camp.

The chameleon photos are great as is the camouflaged grasshopper. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Thanks STF! Some camps are better than others but Letaba is probably the best camp to spend some time in, especially for birds - and there's lots of small stuff to be seen if you look carefully!

Day 1 continued.

The Great Trek.

Let's go on the Eco Trail! What a great idea! We emerged (seemingly) days later at the far end of the camp, hot and sweaty having almost gotten lost a couple of times where the trail seemed to vanish. The path also got pretty rough from time to time and we struggled along in our sandals which aren't designed for hill climbing.

On the plus side, I did get some Dragonfly pictures.

This one's a Banded Groundling.

And I think this one is a Red Basker.

Aside from the myriad Dragonflies, I also managed a couple of Hoppers.

And a Brown Pansy Butterfly.

We finally got to Tsendze and while we were setting up camp there was a disturbance at the fence which turned out to be our second Big Tusker of the trip. A quick look at Aat's site suggests this could be Marhumbini!

Someone told us that this is the Mad Elephant who keeps breaking into the camp and chasing Rodgers around - YIKES!

Great pics BT - wow. I wanted to challenge you with the grass grasshopper, and in the second picture I saw it was truely a hopper 0*\

and the one looking like a twig. I am amazed at what you spot in nature. ^Q^ ^Q^

The first pic of the chameleon is very special - there's so much potential action in that pic. ^Q^
