Great that you saw cheetahs, they are not so easy to be seen in Kruger. Your korhaan is a Kori bustard \O The varaan is called Monitor; there are rock and water monitors.

This summer I am going to Thailand/Laos/Cambodja O\/ O\/ so might just post that one on here.

The holes were not big, just a few mm each, except for three. Those "holes" were more scratches. At least 20 holes appeared that night and if anyone could tell me which animal (guess it was an animal) does this kind of things I would be really happy ^0^

...
We'll have all tales of all your travels  But south-east Asia sounds interesting too. And maybe you could arrest some of those rhino horn users while you're in that corner of the world.

If the holes had appeared in my wardrobe, my bet would have been on moths =O:

Cheetahs! O/\

And a huuuge monitor lounging. ^Q^

I don't have any photos of the holes, will look if I can make them anywhere soon here. Still have the tent :)

So we left at the kori bustard... Just before a waterhole, I think my favourite, since we came back here 3 more times lol
The waterhole was totally empty, so we didn't even bother making photos over there.

It took a long time before we saw something else again, but finally when we were coming closer to Balule we saw an animal again - martial eagle

And somehow we managed to capture this one on [O]

And we arrived at Balule. Nothing spectacular after that Kori bustard, although we did see some animals (buffalo, elephant, impala, etc.) but far, far off.

We set up camp very quickkly, within 45 minutes everything was going great. We laid the meat and other things in the communal cooler and decided to relax a little. We walked around camp and suddenly, when we stood at the fence was a big hyena. Of course we didn't bring a camera, but well.. We heard that they are always there, so we managed later on to get some decent pics with a point-and-shoot :-)

That afternoon we decided to do a little drive. First we wanted to do some gravel roads, because we hadn't done many till now.
So we started of and suddenly one screamed loud: Struisvogel (austrich) but it was only a branch. We had a good laugh and went further.

We decided to make a U-turn, because we wanted to see the olifants-bridge lol
But just before our U-turn:

Black backed jackal O/\

Next was soms beautiful dove we luckily saw. I don't know it's exact name, could look it up, but don't have the time at the moment :o0ps:

We arrived at the olifants bridge and a lot was going on. Hippos were enjoying the sun, crocodiles were everywhere and we saw lots and lots of birds. Ducks, wagtails and a lot more. We even could hear the bats under the bridge - sadly we could not really see them.
After standing there for two or three minutes, some people asked us to come. They were outside the lines, but only a meter or so. Bad of me, I know, but the urge to know why I should go there won and I must say, I don't regret it, because there were two beautiful big snakes (of which one was visible reasonably well)

We drove a little further to the lookout point before returning:

On the way back we again didn't see much, but the drive was still worth it!

Two of our sightings which I can't recall when they were..
And somewhere we saw this boy, somewhere on the day ;-)

And this one

For the next episode: on our way to Olifants and suddenly to Satara. Why? You'll see later! :-0

Thank you all for following this TT. I must say that writing a TT is different from reading them. I have the feeling always that I miss a lot of sightings. I haven't posted many elephants or buffaloes, although we did see many. Am not to sure why I haven't posted many, but they will come later O**

Yeah... Sadly the rhinos are a big problem O/ O/
Will try to tell them they should stop ;-)
