Two antelope itches and two close ups. I love the young hartebeest one
The red fringe of the eland is hilarious in such a big majestic animal
Nice pic of the kudu in the middle of the blue flowers

Toko, agree on the dark colour
nan
Lis, unfortunately I find even young hartebeests already not particularly attractive
RP, yep, flightless

(And thanks for the compliment on my photos

)

Lovely pics Mel.

Love the dung beetles...there's always one who does all the work while others fool around!

Shall we do somthing for the cute factor?

One of my favourite sightings from Addo (although... there were quite a few of those

)
One morning coming down from Gorah Loop heading towards Zuurkop. We had already had some exciting sightings on the way that we had shared with a really nice couple. At this point we were stopping because I had spotted a sunbird and was desperate for a good photo. The light was excellent, so we were sitting and waiting for the bird to re-appear after it had flown off once we stopped next to it. Said couple saw us parked and got a bit excited seeing us stopping in seemingly no-man's land

Luckily, they were able to enjoy birds as well and with a pale chanting goshawk on top of a tree nearby they watched that one while chatting to the SO. Finally the sunbird showed up again and I got my picture as requested. Then I was able to engage in the conversation as well. At some point I noticed a movement a bit further on from the corner of my eye. Checking it out, I yelled "Meerkats!" and to the couple "Sorry, I don't mean to be rude" followed by a "Go, go, go" in the direction of the SO.
Well, the meerkats turned out to be yellow mongoose, but the number of them got me a bit confused as I had never seen more than two together at one time. Yet, here was a whole family of them. And even if the young ones were already rather big, they were still very adorable.
