Poring over maps is what got us out of trouble when the Garmin sent us the wrong way. lol

See the artistic impressions earlier. \O

I laid in my tent that night wondering what the noise was out in the channel. I later dreamed that the crocs had indeed caught and killed a buffalo. They were out there, tearing chunks out of their prey, using the "death roll" to rip pieces of hide and meat to gulp down greedily. In my dreams, I saw myself in the water with them, taking photos of the macabre scene.

"These malaria pills sure give one hallucinations." I thought. "I really should not drink so much beer either."

Still, at least I got the picture stuck in my mind of what was going on out there in the wilderness.

Crocs don't catch buffalo, Deli...unless drought-afflicted? O-/

lol lol lol

Thanks Nan, RP, Lis & Flutt's. \O

To be honest, the croc & buffalo pic was much later in the trip. I just couldn't resist. Full story of that one to come later.

Nan - it was grisly. X#X

RP - Have you not seen the battle of Kruger video? I can quite imagine those crocs being as fast as a cheetah over sun dried, hard baked earth. =O: =O: =O: ;-)

Lis - That's what we thought as well. It could also have been a youngster or sick? We will never know as we only heard what was going on. \O

Flutt's - Those bridges were suprisingly strong. The one of the pool at the side is where people used to take a dip. It was a regular thing until someone was taken by a croc.

Red Lechwe were a first for me on this trip. We came upon two sparring males on our morning drive from Xakanaxa.

Image

It was also nice to see three species together, we'd later get to see a herd of Sable, a herd of Roan and a herd of Zebra together as well. Roan also being a first for me. O/\
