All sizes, all ages! Great sighting and great pics ^Q^ ^Q^

The eyes of the jackals are on the hyenas, while eating, not on the food lol

A kudu is not a big meal for a large hyena clan and several jackals lol

Cool sighting, PJL ^Q^

They all had very big tummies lol
I think normally the hyena in Addo have adapted to hunt smaller prey such as warthog which is why sightings of them are often only a few at a time. At least a meal this size could draw the clan together \O

We had some really nice bird sightings on Saturday. O\/ O\/

This juvenile pale chanting goshawk was repeatedly calling its mom for food

On the Gorah Loop it was good to see some blue cranes visiting the park

Further south and later in the day we came across a secretary bird hunting in the grass

Late in the day we found Josie, Roy & Nomad. They were sleeping near their zebra kill about at least a km away from the road, and after waiting a while they got up to feed a bit more. I was really hoping that we might get to see Josie's cubs, but there was no sign of them. Hopefully they were tucked away somewhere safe -O-

Due to the distance it was very difficult to see whether Josie is still feeding - and hence a sign of whether there are still cubs. But this shot was probably the best I managed to get, and I think the dark rings are still there which is a good sign. Time will tell whether any of her first litter have survived.

Breaking News is that Josie does indeed have some surviving cubs - 2 of them were seen over the weekend. Still trying to find out where they were last seen so I can make a plan to try and find them lol O/\ O/\
