During the stampede of buffalo witnessed earlier in this tale, at least eight buffalo had drowned and were a bonus to the local crocs. By the time we paid our second visit here, most had been consumed, but one remained which had not been touched. We approached to see who was around,

Image

One croc was busy feeding. Gulping down chunks of meat.

Image

It would go underwater and take a bite out of the carcass before coming to the surface to swallow it.

Image

A second croc moved futher away to swallow his prize steak.

Image

A larger croc moved in to claim his portion.

Image

Biting in to the carcass from the side.

Image

And swallowing down huge globs of meat.

Image

An even larger croc joiner into the mele.

Image

Going for prime rump.

Image

While the smaller croc enjoyed its piece of fresh meat.

Image

But the largest mouthful was kept for the big guy.

There is meat enough for quite a few meals from ox-tail to filet, shoulder roast and buff ham \O
