Now we're talking! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Great stuff, Deli! Sable and roan, and puhlenty of them! O/\

That is a beautiful area! Stayed at Drotsky's in 1999 Dec, not sure if water is there then yet? -O-

It is a stunning place!

Katima and Caprivi are old warzones...presumably your buddy told you? Robert's old hangout! :-0

Thanks for commenting Lis, Mel, Puff Addy, Nan, Flutt's & RP. \O X#X

Lis - I think they were ruminating over wether to get up or stay where they were. ;-)

Mel - Hope you like big orange owl too. O**

Puffy - See my reply to Mel. O**

Nan - It was a really nice way to see my first Roan ever. What's more, they were truly wild animals as well, not re-introduced ones. O/\

Flutt's - Glad you managed to catch up after your internet fiasco. \O

RP - We loved it around Drotsky's. Aye, J. gave me all the stories from his time in the region. Wouldn't be too suprised if he and Rob.T ware in the same unit. \O

We continued to pootle upriver a while when Otto took us close into shore to search some large trees. We motored slowly for a couple of hundred yards when Otto saw the male sitting high up in a tree.

We landed quietly and Otto guided us to a spot where we could see the owl in all his glory. The female and fledged youngster had moved to another location he told us, but he was hopeful that she would return to breed with the male again in the next breeding season.

We watched fascinated as he looked around. Gave us a quick glance, then spent his time watching other birds flit through the branches above and around him.

Along with the wild dog and roan sightings, this was up there as one of the highlights of the trip for both of us.

Well done, Otto \O lol I would love to see a Pel's fishing owl moving and not just sitting. I suppose that it is also fishing from time to time O**
