Moshi Monster spotted these beettles in the camp, which I believe is called "oogpister". The "oogpister" can shoot a stream of acid from a distance of 30 cm. which can cause blindness

I think this is a Pedunculate Ground Beetle (Carabidae. Subfamily Scaritinae)

Passalidius fortipes Burrowing Ground Beetle
Large (body length 32 mm), black, parallel-sided. Antennae bead-like, mandibles strongly developed. Elytra with longitudinal grooves.
They live under stones and burrow in the ground and their front legs are obviously adapted for digging.

Subject: special moments

So for the first time I was the only guest on a bush walk which was a great experience. We started the walk at the Confluence lookout point around 10 km's south of Mopani. I must say that I was a bit surprised by the beauty of the landscape and for those who are interested I can highly reccommend to do a bush walk in Mopani. Here are some pics of the walk. The first one shows a Golden orb web spider

Lydomorphus bisignatus Slender Grey Blister Beetle
Medium-sized (body length 16 mm), elongate. Head black with greyish flat-lying hairs. Antennae long and thin. Pronotum orange. Elytra black, covered with greyish hairs.

I assume this to be a Syngenes sp. due to wings with pointed tips as opposed to rounded ones as in Centroclisis, as well as the banding on the legs and abdomen.

However you wish to add it is fine by me, Toko. Thanks!
