Me too. Doesn't seem to match the description. This is a confusing bunch to sort through. I'll do some more research into the possibilities you posted for my robber fly. Thanks for the links! \O

I thought this was a queen ant of some sort, but then came across this species of fly that is described as "…small, easily recognized by their ant-like appearance, constricted waist of abdomen, and almost spherical head…" -O-

:-? There are some look alikes in the genus -O- Thyreus brachyaspis and Thyreus calceatus do also occur in the area

Perhaps you make it a "possibly"?
