Can someone please point me in the right direction for info. on the fly species Rhinia? I don't see it in my Picker, etc insect book, nor in the checklist for Diptera of SA, but there is an entry here in AW's book (Blowfly Rhinia sp., most likely Rhinia apicalis
Family: Calliphoridae. Subfamily: Rhiniinae) that looks like some of mine, except diff. color, eyes etc? 0: Thanks!

First, before I get to the Blowflies that I'm trying to sort, the yellow "ladybug-looking" one w/ blue eyes above interested me because I still haven't been able to identify the blue-eyed blond one I posted here awhile ago. O/ Mine was much lighter, but this is the most similar bug I've seen to date.

"What's that bug?" site couldn't ID it, but suggested some kind of leaf beetle, and some of them certainly resemble ladybugs. Maybe consider a leaf beetle -O- -O-

BTW, Joan Young's album has this same fly ID's as: Hover Fly - Syrphidae ??? (https://picasaweb.google.com/1037881000 ... iesDiptera)
However, the link Toko gave me re: Rhinia species agrees w/ us. ^Q^

This one doesn't appear to have the bands on the abdomen, just plain green. Same as above, or different? Chrysomya or Lucilia sp.??

This is a different one, but have no clue, there are several genera with the golden spot on the wing -O-
