That's what I think as well, but Mr. Lemmer claimed it was there when the bookings for September next year opened. 0'

What bothers me is always the same thing. Sanparks want to publish the event for obvious reasons, but they do not want to make it known to a certain group of "Old fashioned nature lovers" or better still "Purists" and they then have a dilemma, which they cannot resolve and always end up making such a bad figure 0- 0'

It's a shame that not everyone is able to read the topic on the SPF.
But three forumites there have made excellent contribution and one makes it abundantly clear
that he's not gonna let it sit with the answers received as in Toko's links above. ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

:-? Some of the posts on the SPF call for an EIA. But I think, it is not required -O-

In terms of Sections 24 and 24(D) of the National Environmental Management Act, an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is only required for
"The construction of facilities or infrastructure, including associated structures or infrastructure, for resorts, lodges, hotels or other tourism and hospitality facilities in a protected area" and some other building developments.

But what about an EMP to provide a management framework for the control of a mountain bike event in the park? -O- Required or "good practice"?
Definition of an “Environmental Management Plan”:
A plan or programme that seeks to achieve a required end state and describes how activities, that have or could have an adverse impact on the environment, will be mitigated, controlled, and monitored.
The EMP will address the environmental impacts during the design, construction and operational phases of a project. Due regard must be given to environmental protection during the entire project. In order to achieve this a number of environmental specifications/recommendations are made. These are aimed at ensuring that the contractor maintains adequate control over the project in order to:
• Minimise the extent of impact during construction.
• Ensure appropriate restoration of areas affected by construction.
• Prevent long term environmental degradation.
The contractor must be made aware of the environmental obligations that are stipulated in this document, and declares himself/herself to be conversant of all relevant environmental legislation. The contractor should also be aware that the Park Manager / Environmental Control Officer will monitor the implementation of the procedures.
Does this apply here?

BTW: There are several EMPs for activities in TMNP: Link
