Some of them are. I have lately had a good look at Costa Rica and they are cheaper and the quality used to be tip top. I was there many, many years ago, so it might have changed. It is a birder paradise

Wild Card membership: 2017/2018 tariffs
OCTOBER 18, 2017
To be a Wild Card traveller from 1 November 2017, might cost you a few rands more, but it remains the best and most affordable option to explore, enjoy and conserve South Africa’s and Swaziland’s nature and wildlife destinations.
As of 1 November 2017, the price of Wild Card membership will increase – in line with the annual increase in conservation fees. Wonderful news is that despite the increase, you will still save money when visiting 80+ parks and reserves across South Africa.
For one year, you will pay no conservation fees when entering the more than 80 Wild Card partner parks and reserves. Plus you’ll receive four free issues of the award-winning Wild magazine distributed every quarter. Choose a Wild Card option that suits your needs best and make memories in the wilderness.
Did you know that by joining the Wild Card community, you make it possible for the participating conservation agencies to protect our natural heritage and threatened fauna and flora species?

oups... I paid R 2.210.-- on the 18.1.2017
it's a very good price for me this year
and foreigners can't paid for "only" one park
most of them have 2-3 weeks... how they can have acces to more than 80 parks

They are milking the foreign cows, Nan
I tried to buy a wildcard online, but the system does not work properly and does not let me finish
If I buy it at Twee Rivieren I just get a receipt and it is only valid for 30 days. Anyway having arrived in the park it should be all right

Also buying it online I will only have a receipt, the card will never arrive in 10 days
