Great shots BL, Looking at your settings ,if I had to go as high as you went with the ISO I would be looking at spots. =O: =O: =O:

Thanks PRWIN, I have a habit of picking up the camera and taking a shot before I've checked the settings (something I need to change), sometimes they come out OK so I use them. The sensor on the D5100 is pretty good with high ISO but the shots do get grainy at over 1600.

The animals in Pretoriuskop area have such a tranquillity about them O** . . . . maybe because they live in such a tranquil environment ;-)

Doing some research...never seen those cockroaches, but name seems fine? -O-



Regarding the raptor...looks like a photoshopped pigeon, but rare I think! Some sort of harrier! :-?

Awesome photography and magnificent sightings - Should spend more time around Pretoriouskop as the landscape looks breathtaking there. O/\

Saw also such strange armada of inscets on the ground so thanks for the id O\/

Thanks mposthumus! Maybe they look tranquil because it's easier to hide from predators in thick bush.
