JN - Tamboti was great but we had more night life that we didn't enjoy - a party somewhere in camp that carried on late into the night!!

Tamboti - Skukuza

We loved Tamboti and can’t wait to go back in August, but we do have some reservations. The H7 has never been very good for us, so by the time you get to the “good game-viewing” areas near Satara you have missed the “golden hour” and the same for the drive back. There are also a lot less routes to take from Tamboti than from Satara so we might change our booking in August to just one night at Tamboti and try to get the other 2 at Satara.

We left Tamboti just after the gates opened to head down to Skukuza. The H7 and the S106 detour were very quiet, producing some impala, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and a floppy-eared ellie.

Two Black-winged Stilts were being dive-bombed by a pair of Blacksmith Plovers, but I couldn’t get any great shots.

We reached the end of the H7 and the S100 beckoned. Even though we’ve had bad luck there on our last few trips, we just cannot drive past it!! This is impala rutting season, so the males were all strutting their stuff and making a lot of noise!

Some great sightings. Loved your badger visit and the genet is beautiful.
My cat must have copied a genet as she also carries her tail folded over her back -O -O

Can't believe they can't secure those dustbins - maybe there is method in their madness -
less rubbish to dispose of after the badger has had his fill

Great sightings again Flutterby.

We have two nights at Tamboti in August and what you are saying about Tamboti is so true.

The only reason we are going back that way is last time we saw a lions with a kill on the private road to Tamboti.

That's the beauty of Kruger - you never know where or what you are going to see.
