As I said, I use Avis
Phone head office, and do everything through them.
Nothing to it really. Very easy.

what is the difference between "SUV" and "4x4" ?

I search to rent a car for the Kgalagadi... is a SUV enable to drive in the sand... wet sand... and sometime with bad conditions :-?

An SUV refers to a Suburban Utility Vehicle. This may or may not be equipped with 4 wheel drive. If you want to be sure, better get a 4x4 \O

Quite a few SUV's are 4x4...just ask your rental agent. ;-)

Actually , Sport Utility Vehicle , also called Soft roaders , meaning better to rather only drive on good roads lol

\O nan . Just remember , quite often these SUV's are also 4 x 4 . But also keep in mind , driving on poor roads , and sand , etc in sand does not necessarily need a 4 x 4 . You need a vehicle with a high road clearance , and on dirt/gravel/sand roads , you should let down the tyres . It makes for a softer ride on such roads , and also better road gripping .
I always let down the tyres of the Land Rover down to 1,5 bar when we arrive at Kruger , and pump it up again when we leave \O

yes, I do the same... but in case of big rain, like this year better a 4x4 :-?
I always had a 4x4... but I want to rent a car at another place and it seems they have "only" SUV ;-)
