I would not have stayed in that one in any case, especially when it rains 0*\

Caracal

A few of you were enjoying my avatar, so I thought I'd share some of the caracal sightings I've had in the park. For quite a few visits now I haven't come across any, but if you're the first person driving in from the south gate there's a very good chance of seeing one sunning itself by the side of the road. Addo is known to be a really good place for seeing these amazing cats, but like many sightings it's often the luck of being in the right place at the right time.

We weren't in the right place at the right time when we visited Addo in 2012.
But the plant is seeded with the SO and I hope we'll be going again next year.
And obviously I even more hope to get to see one of those beautiful cats
(and a blackie!) then. 0:

Super sightings and great photos! O/\

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments O0

In my personal opinion, these animals are the un-sung heroes of Addo O** It's almost impossible not to see them during a trip to the park, but the great thing is that they're often around in the heat of the day when other animals have retreated to some shade. They're also quite happy about vehicles being close by, so it's often possible to get some great photos of them with their distinctive horns \O
