I wonder where the optimism comes from
If CITES members would not support legal trading of either stockpiled horns, or harvested horns, or only horns from natural mortality, where would the money come from which is required for conservation measures and control of illegale trade? Any good ideas on this from the conference?

Brilliant, Moggie! A lot of effort, and valid points indeed!
Some AW members are pro-trading, like me! But not the majority, there is a long discussion here:
viewtopic.php?f=197&t=1141
One I would like to know – perhaps someone on the forum has the answer – Not all owners are in favor of trade so
What percentage of Rhino owners/breeders/farmers/hunters want the trade legalized?
It is impossible to give a percentage, and many farmers invested in rhino for hunting purposes, which adds a third dimension which may have been ignored at the conference?
But to answer, I think a few BIG rhino farmers are pro-trade, with stocks rivalling that of .gov.
Other farmers will/may follow suit, depending on prices?

From the Buffets and Bransons, from the Netherlands, from donors, from Dire Straits Concerts, from the ZA Government not squandering 33 Billion Rands in 2013, etc. Many people care about this.

I doubt it,..This conference was a open invitation to the fraternity at large,...

Of course they would, why ignore a gifted horse should .gov go ahead.
I doubt that the fraternity, farmers for hunting, have such large amounts in stock.
Regarding,..

I wonder how many of these "farmers", hunting fraternity, are feasting on
the back of Moz poachers????
We are talking ethics here, a personal norm addressed at the conference,..
Just very recent the "great curator was found embroiled in some messy
situation",....
Speech was made with reference to the big letter "C",...
To many this is a bone chilling comment to make,....
The capital letter for "corruption!!!!

Obviously there is corruption! People were caught at OR Tambo airport, SP employees being caught every now and again, Mozambique a shocking shambles, IMO...

I'll send you on more missions!
Jokes aside "you" should be "we", as AW, H.
And we are doing quite a bit, IMO!
