The first pic of the chameleon is very special - there's so much potential action in that pic.

Thanks Amoli. It is amazing what there is to see if you look carefully enough - I spot many of these things when they move.

Thanks STF, I'm quite pleased with the Dragonflies too The Ellie was just a snapshot for the TT really, it was getting cloudy and by the time we went out at around 15:00 it was too dingy to take any pictures.

We saw Marhumbini again the next day - he was one of the "Three Amigos" at the Mooiplaas Water Hole.

This is the board at the beginning of the Mopane Eco Trail. I suspect that it has had little or no maintenance for months if not years!

Day 1 continued.

As we set up camp the clouds rolled in and it got dimmer and dimmer. We did go out for an afternoon drive - S49 past the Mooiplaas Waterhole, south on the S50 and back to camp on the H1-6. There was nothing to photograph even if I'd had the light to do it!

Day 2. Monday 19 May 2014. Tsendze.

Up bright and early and the first thing we saw were two young Hyaenas that ran in front of us in the road and then ducked into the bush before I got my camera on them. The same thing happened a couple of kms further on but this time it was a Cheetah walking in the road, again it vanished into thick bush Mopane before I could get the camera on it

We stopped for a look at Shipandane Hide and I noticed something strange at the causeway.



Several Barbels were surfacing and gulping air - filling their swim bladders I presume.

On our way to Thingylongname Waterhole we disturbed a Kori Bustard which took fright then took flight.


At the waterhole were the usual suspects.




This Zebra said "Cheese"!




We proceeded to the S50 and then headed north to the Shibavatsengele Viewpoint which wasn't worth the effort. One of the very few Steenbok we sighted was near the turnoff.
