After our welcome break at Nossob we were on out way to our favourite rest camp in any park - Grootkolk.

At Kwang we found 4 of the Kwang pride, 2 lions and 2 lionesses all snoozing away.

Giving us the tail  for disturbing them

0- they were on the road, early in the morning, while everybody was waiting at Cubije =O:
the males were coming from the North and the females from the South... super greeting... then I let them
and when I returned they were all sleeping... but changed the place twice O/\

We make our customary stop at Lijersdraai where we find this scene =O:

Jackal: Is that sprinbok blood you wearing?
Image

Jackal: That smells really good, can I have some
Image

Vulture: This stuff is hard to come by so go find your own and stop that sniffing :X: 0=

Jackal: How 'bout one dance then?

Grootkolk - 25/26/27 November 2014

Grootkolk has a new waterhole. I have read both negative and positive comments about this elsewhere. I like it. It is nearer to the chalets and visible from all the units. Because it is nearer one has to sit upright to see over the fence but that is a small issue for me. It also looks more natural. The waterhole is now positioned in front of and to the right of the tree

Maybe another two then lol

Point is better photo opportunities Lis. It was behind and to the left of the tree ;-)

Interesting interaction between the jackal and the vulture! O:V

Obviously, I love that brownie, but the springbok shot is fabulous too. ^Q^

RP, some waterhole have been closed already over the last years... But since there are way less than in KNP in the first place
I can't fathom that there will be more to be closed. And most of those that have been cut were rather close to the expensive
wilderness camps and their waterholes... Just saying...
