$\O$ Beautiful light and an exceptional photo Pete - specially the cheetah. You have some amazing photos. Nothing beats being in the bush before 7:00 in the morning.

Thanks Mike. Its my best time of the day.. My wife has a very stressful job and just loves to sleep in while in Kruger etc and I go out while the light builds and stays good till about 08h30 when I am back in camp to pick up Jane who by this time has got up and had her rusk and coffee with her friends the Hornbills and squirrels. I don't really enjoy doing that in places with unfenced camps so I try and make her get up early and come with ..We then go and drive to a Kruger picnic spot for breakfast and then spend the rest of the day in camp if its a great camp like Tamboti , Tsendze , Shingwedzi otherwise its a definite trip in the late arvie again

One morning I came across this lion on the H7 walking towards me on his way to Nsemane dam ..Closeby to drink and to clean up after a feast. I turned sideways , switched off and let him walk to me from 100 metres away ..Look at my roof shadow as he got to my car

A Lion that I became a friend with ...I used to find 'Brunette' most mornings up from Tsendze near Eendrag windmill North of Mopani camp...Here he is approaching the Tropic of Capricorn Monument with me free wheeling ..Slight down hill with my camera draped over my left arm as I steered with the same arm and fired the camera with my right hand ....The only sound was his padding and my tyres on the tar ..Lens 24-70 Standard zoom on 55mm Full frame (No Crop advantage ..He was close km after km ..The whole of Mopani camp was further south watching the huge Buff herd that morning = I had him to myself . This was before the sun rose 20 mins later ..No shadows ..lovely
