You had a great start and stunning bird pics, the cheetahs, cute squirrels and meerkats. Don't fee bad about the cheetah. KNP is far better to see them. Our luck was zero in April, but lots of lions, including one that walked passed Mel's tent when we went to say good bye.

Thanks for the feedback on the renovation at Nossob. Looks like the big construction works will either start end Oct - Nov after finishing the fence or next year if the heat gets to bad. $\O$

Car problems on holiday are awful, we had a dreadful KNP trip several years ago due to a broken wheel bearing that three different garages failed to diagnose!

We've had some outstanding Cheetah sightings in KNP over the years so missing one or two in KTP doesn't worry me at all. I'm after the more unusual sightings anyway!

The other bird pics are mostly boring, but the action shots of the meerkat and squirrel are superb!

Sounds like a bit of a bad-tempered trip...more and less coffee!

Anthrax has nothing to do with water pumped out of the ground, BTW, but at least they got the message, which is what we were aiming for! $\O$

Wednesday 16 September. Mata Mata.

A slow day today, probably because Stargazer managed to lose her only pair of glasses $0*\$ .

Sunrise.

First up, another Owl.

Then a crowd of Springboks.

With the usual alpha male.

Scaly Feathered Finch/Weaver.

Back at camp, a lizard.

Stargazer found her glasses, on her bed under the mattress. Luckily they were still in one piece after she'd slept on them $0*\$ $0*\$ .

I wonder how a pair of glasses can end up under the mattress

Also the Verraux's eagle owl is a nice sighting
