This would not happen anywhere else in the world. I am over the pussyfooting and the inclination to offend nobody and play Mr. Nice Guy - that time is now gone - done and dusted. The first time a tourist in KNP is caught up in this there is going to be a major drama and I doubt that the stupid indemnity forms signed at the gate will protect Sanparks from a major legal claim!
I agree Penny, but still don't understand those cheerleaders who still insist on waving that banner of praise, yet profess to care. Maybe if they grew some nuts then more would force the changes required.

Also on the first tourist, there's massive issues there for SANParks if an innocent is caught up in this O/

It still baffles me senseless that, armed insurgents are allowed to penetrate our borders without consequence! :-?

Time to declare Kruger Park a war zone, and then fight it as a war! Remove tourists for a period of time if need be, but by winning one small battle here and there is not giving us the upper hand in the war!! 0*\

OUR COUNTRY IS UNDER THREAT BY ARMED INFILTRATORS, THIS MEANS WAR!!!!

I sound like a broken grammophone record - shut the bloody park down. There are people in staff camps who have NO right to be there - I think they are virtual permanent residents. The use and abuse of roads and gates is legendary and Sanparks still will not clamp down. Therein lies the crux of the problem of the information that is getting out and vehicles that are simply waved through gates! Its got to stop. Do lifestyle checks - clear out the rotten apples and get people in who care about conservation not "its my job" but most of all stop this pussy footing around - we need 3 000 SANDF soldiers in there minimum. Accordin g to tonight's newspaper the escapades to CAR have cost R108 million rand in transport alone. Now Govt must start protecting SA Citizens and their heritage! They are simply not doing enough!

Thank you Penny, someone agrees with me. Close it down for a few months, accept the financial loss and sort the problem out...after that, back to business, with conservation as the vision! \O
