Ja, not really canefields, but poachers presumably read here avidly...so who knows? \O

Croc Bridge is a strange camp, especially with the new gate/reception complex...one doesn't really know how much you can walk around between the two, and you have a sometimes raging river, weird camping setup, bridge, strange view over river, honeymoon safari tent next to filling station, animals walking around all over the place...

Love it! O/\ O/\ O/\ O/\

A rare pic of RP...somewhere between the gate and camp... :-?

And our hut....dammit, forgot the number again...16 or 18? -O-

And it got dark, which often happens in Kruger! Fortunately, it was so hot that the firewood spontaneously ignited! \O

Leachy was in charge of food for the trip, in exchange for lodging. This is a bit of a mixed blessing, as he has a rather "hunter-gatherer" approach to food...meat, nuts and fruit, basically? -O-

Hence the visit to Malelane P&P to get some salads and rusks, at least?

But traditional chicken flattie on the first night was there again, a very old tradition. And once again, he is the master of this. He should start a service or something. The downside is it takes a while, which gives ample time for the braaier, who has abstained from liquor all day as per the rules, to catch up and increasingly denigrate poor me for being a reprobate, etc... 0: :O^

One thing the Nipponese camera does well is use its little flash! So I employed it! O/\ ..0..

Chicken done!

One rather startling encounter was one of these frogs again...ironically the same problem with a meeting with leachy, aat, Elly and Scipio a few years ago in a nearby unit...yes, it did happen! lol

The frog wouldn't move, even once I sat there ready to eat, so I moved it to the wall by hand...forgot to wash hands, now I think about it... :o0ps:
