But then it started moving, and all the pics are blurred!
It climbed higher into the tree behind heavy leaves and was no longer visible but time was running out to get back before gate closing so we were happy that the sighting had come to a natural end.
We got back to camp at about 2 minutes past six, and then it was time to braai and enjoy some wine with a very appropriate name!

Are you trying to equal, Bushcraft? You are doing quite well
Did you buy the wine because of the name or was it a case?

Love the Wahlberg shots and for sure you were rewarded with a couple of leopard shots at least you finally spotted same and the lions got up from time to time

Just bought one bottle because of the name!
Thanks Pumbaa. It was very dry...but there was some nice rain over the next few days! It was unit G162.

Great lion sighting
Patience and a return trip to score the leopard I know what you mean when they move and the resultant blurred pics
Cool wine name

Re: A Spotty Flutter
The lion sighting wasn't that great as they were quite far away and flat most of the time, but it was probably the best of the trip.
I always get too excited at leopard sightings so it's difficult to get good pics!

Re: A Spotty Flutter
There was a massive storm during the night which had cleared the air and cooled everything down. The Brat always likes to do the S39 (although we've never had any luck there) so we decided to head up the H1-4 to see if the leopard and lions were still around, then take the S127 to the S39.
An early morning silhouette.
We got to the leopard tree but there was no sign of it. We scanned the whole area with no luck. We moved on to find the lions but they had also moved off. We carried on up the tar, but after a few minutes the Brat stopped and said he wasn't sure if he wanted to do the S39 and that maybe we should rather head down the H7, so we turned around. Again, we looked for the leopard with no luck. We carried on, but about a minute later, the Brat stopped again, and said that maybe we should do the S39, so we turned around again! As we approached 'leopard bridge' for the third time, the Brat suddenly screeched, 'There it is!' The leopard was on the other side of the road from its tree, walking towards the road!!
We were the only car there at first, but another one joined soon after.

It came closer and closer...
... and then came onto the road. Up until this point the Brat had the camera and got some great pics, but when it came onto the road, I had to take the camera and again lost my cool!

Re: A Spotty Flutter
We thought it would disappear quickly, but it sat down on the side of the road, at which point the other vehicle left , but we were happy as we were alone with the leopard now!
We slowly moved closer to it, surprised that it did not bolt!
We were in leopard heaven!!

Re: A Spotty Flutter
By now, some other cars had arrived so the leopard moved off into the bush and we soon lost sight of it.
So, it was definitely a case of 'third time lucky'!!
