Re: Heavy vehicles using KNP as short cut due to protests

It's a moot point for me - I'm banned until August. You are right; the person who received the email would need to post it themselves or it will be considered hearsay and will be removed. I don't know what if any issues there are around sharing personal emails but mods on the SP website forum have asked to see a screenshot of a personal email sent by Sanparks management before to back up claims made by a forumite.

The SP forum is dead in the water. A case in point: the other day the topic of the rhino with the hacked off horns/face gathered a handful of replies (the sycophant brigade mostly) on SP website forum while at the same time over 200 comments were made on their FB Kruger site.

The SP website forum is moderated to death. They have a little more trouble moderating the FB page. If they have failed to address the contradictory comments on their FB page (by successfully ignoring it) it aint gonna happen on the other forum IMHO.

Sad that there’s only a few with guts to speak up and many others seem more interested in “their own little click of forum mates” then what’s best for our reserves O/

Anyway, back to the trucks. How do we get an official public response from SANParks -O-

I think the only option is an email to Dr Mabunda or to Abe Sibiya NOT their PR department. It would need to outline the concerns and then highlight the contradictory responses from within Sanparks and ask for clarification on that specific event (how and why it occurred) and any relevant through traffic policy in general.

I would be more than happy to do it but Dr Mabunda will no longer reply to my emails (black listed I guess). I don't really want to take it up with Mr Sibiya as I don't have access to Sanparks Kruger Facebook forum to go back over the relevant comments and responses.

Any takers?

I would like a public response from them so there's no stories about sharing mails, etc -O-

The top dogs' emails get screened by their PA's, obviously they get lots! So a bit of PR there already, and most replies are on their behalf!

Journalist is the way to go, but my contacts are down for various reasons! Am trying! ;-)

In my opinion, Dr Mabunda is lost to SP, on a political career....a couple of birdies have mentioned that to me already! :-)

She has shared it on FB already - having permission or not? -O-

Daily Conservation Fee Valid from 1 November 2013 to 31 October 2014:

South African Citizens and Residents (with ID):
R62 per person, per day
R27 per child , per day

SADC Nationals (with passport):
R124 per person, per day
R62 per child, per day

Standard Conservation Fee (Foreign Visitors):
R248 per adult, per day
R124 per child, per day
Cargo Carriers

Cargo Carrier 2 – 4 tons
Rate to be confirmed

Cargo Carrier heavier than 4 tons

Why would Cargo Carriers be on this list? Thought it was just a once off to avoid the protests!!! :-? :-?

Strange that there is no rates either, but again if it not other than a tour bus then why you need to pay conservation fees to deliver goods. The two does not match up. -O-
