Twigga - She was walking fine, and eating perfectly too! ;-)

Mel - Thanks for helping out with the birds...I am sure my mom will have a reply for you! We actually met aat on our third night, but will tell you more about that later!

stf - Definitely one of our best leopard sightings yet, and is was made even more special because we spotted it ourselves! O:V

Lis - I am sure my mom has plenty more squirrel pics! We saw them all over the park!

RP - We also thought it could have been a fish, but it was too far to tell. -O-

Tina - \O

OK, so I didn't have many pics from that morning, because we mainly saw ellies, so you can imagine where I was! :-0 :o0ps: Therefore, I will continue with the afternoon, and night drive.

We went back to our bungalow for a bit where the naughty monkeys entertained us. They were wreaking havoc in the camp, stealing people's food and jumping on cars! --00-- (0!)

Hiding under our car! ^0^

We then went back to the deck, where the monkeys were entertaining us again. This time, sitting in the rafters of the lapa, trying to steal people's lunch. The one even leaked a little on a man! =O: --00--
We had decided to do the same route as yesterday, to try and find our leopard again. So off we went.

P.S. I have a tradition that whenever I spot a very rare animal by myself, I must name it. Like Olly the Clawless Otter and Benjamin the Baby Hyena. :-0 O:V So, my leopard was deemed Sandra! ^0^

We didn't manage to find the leopard :-( but we did find plenty game, including this Grysbok! O/\

Image

Unfortunately, that was about it...and the night drive only managed to produce some eagle owls, buffs and ellies! :-( -O-

Image

Really proud of this pic! O:V

Image

So, not a great day, but any day in the park is better than a day here in JHB!

The vervets were quite a problem at Shingwedzi but we didn't see any boons around.

This one grabbed a packet of sugar which emptied out while he was running! He was very confused when he found the packet was empty! =O:

Image

But they soon found the sugar trail and licked it up! :O^

Using my car as a springboard! O**

Image

For our afternoon drive we took the same route as the day before, but unfortunately didn't find the leoapard! :-(

At first I thought this was a Little Sparrowhawk, but the red eye makes me think it's a Shikra. :-? -O- Would be another lifer! O:V

A Rainbow Skink

Late afternoon roadblock. ;-)

Image

The Brat was very excited about our night drive, but apart from diurnal game, like buffs, ellies and giraffes, we only saw some Eagle-Owls and Bronze-winged Coursers. :-( I was hoping this would put the Brat off any future night drives but apparently not! :O^
