Ok!

OSV's and tourbuses have been entering half an hour early at Phabeni Gate as part of a "trial period" November/December 2015. Don't know if they come out later yet, but it is all part of minimising queuing at gates in the mornings, maybe not the end of the world.

Anyway, over the holidays there will be 3 gates open, a fast one for OSV's and Pre-booked DAY visitors, another for Wild Card holders and probably overnighters, and a slow one for the rest...also part of the trial, with Honorary Rangers sorting queues out as over most peak periods.

There will be pamphlets at the gates once holidays start, and a release soon!

:ty:

Part of this is to try and improve the image of OSV's in Kruger, which is where the decals and things come from in the first place, which is great! \O

But a more sinister part may be interpreted differently later, quite simply regarding the end of self-drive in the South of Kruger, for a start, as predicted by some.

Congestion, rulebreaking, and now even carbon emissions are being used as justification for OSV's...remember, the 20-seaters are SANParks' own vehicles, linked to camps, gates, proposed hotels, park and rides etc.

This does not compute regarding the ghastly added environmental implications of all the new developments/accommodation, which will make a few hundred family vehicles on the roads look like a picnic...so subterfuge here, IMO!

Hi Rich,

When you refer to the south of Kruger, where is its northern limit, the Sabie River? Or does the south extend even further north? :-)

Kind regards,

Adam
