On the way a small fishing village

Finally we have found the Visitor Center (which was closed) and the marked route. We spend about three hours between pine forest, dunes, saltmarshes along the lagoon and a sweet water lake.

The National Park of Ria Formosa was legally established in December 1987. It encompasses 60 km of coast in eastern Algarve and its surface nears 18.400 ha.It is wintering ground for birds from northern and central Europr, it is stop-over point in the migration routes between Europe and Africa.

Unfortunately this is the wrong season for the more interesting species, but we got a lot of sun, wind and exercise.

Maybe a flycatcher?

We saw lots of birds, but they are not that easy to catch 0*\

The dunes are covered by board walks in order to protect them, as the ecosystem is very delicate

The following is a tide mill. They used the tide as power to make the mill work.

Lovely scenery and lots of birds again Lis. ^Q^ \O

Your "kentish plover" is a ringed plover. \O

The warbler is a chiffchaff.

The gull is a yellow-legged gull and there is also a lesser black-backed gull on the shore (the darker backed one).

The ducks are shovellers, gadwall and a pochard. \O
