The bee-eaters are white-fronted ones, as far as I can see -O-

It actually wasn't that smelly -O-
Lovely sightings we had, but more to come!

Since I'll be leaving off to Thailand and Malaysia in just 10 days time, I really need to make speed, because I'll be gone for over 5 weeks...
So the next episodes will follow up fairly fast!

Our way back to camp was quiet and we didn't do another drive that day. We did see some stork etc, but (and I don't know why) but not many (good quality) photos were taken after the lion sighting. So on to the next day.

We moved from Balule to Olifants and - because the low water bridge was still closed - we got to the olifants. First we saw some hippos, birds and impalas, but that was just all. Nothing spectacular and we didn't even bother stopping.

Just before reaching the bridge we saw lots of vultures circling around and two in a tree:

We stopped at the bridge to look at those vultures and saw them all landing, so we knew there was a kill, which was sadly way too far away from the road:

^we saw this vulture (my guess) landing.

And we had a quick look around at the bridge, which I absolutely loved. Getting out of the car makes you vulnerable, but also makes you can experience everything so differently, which I loved. Normally I always wander around in national park and nature reserves, so being on foot for me felt naturally.

Same snake as the day before

So we drove on to Letaba, but nothing to be seen (I don't even have photos of any animals) so we started birding en relaxing in camp en pitched up our tents:

^these were almost tame, strange to see in a national park!

Lovely view of the letaba river!

And a bird which I though looks amazing, have my birding book here, but well... It is 00:30 am O:)

Even some ground hornbills:

That was the day, tomorrow I will do a short update again. Or at least, I plan to do that update! O:)
