Stunning stuff again PA.
We have Dippers here in Wales, there's a pair on the stream 50m from where I park the car. Fantastic little birds.
Never seen Wallcreeper though. Just a tad green over here about your sighting. And your Citril Finch as well come to think of it.

Thank you, Dewi.
You are lucky to have Dippers so close.
Citril Finch is a beautiful bird in the light. We saw them in a couple of different spots during our trip, including above the lake featured in the next installment...

Re: A Bit of Switzerland between Nan and Lis
Today's walk began at 1600 metres, went up to almost 2000 metres, and then went back down to 1200 metres. Our destination was Oberbaergli, above the lake called Oeschinensee.
After leaving our lodgings, we walked past the old Catholic church.
We left the gondola station at 1600 metres and had a 300-metre slog up to a viewpoint called Heuberg. The views over the lake towards the Bluemlisalp were terrific.
From the Heuberg overlook, my wife saw a large bird flying just below us and alerted me to it with an "oh my god". It continued flying away from us in the direction we were going, so we quickened our pace and I prepared the camera with the 100 mm lens (the longest we had with us!) in the event we caught up with it, so we could at least document the sighting.
In the meantime, here is a photo of our destination, Oberbaergli, the collection of buildings on the left.
As luck would have it, we saw the bird again and it headed right toward us and flew quite low over our heads. What a place to see our first Bearded Vulture!
