Re: JUNE IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVER
Thanks very much Lisbeth.
That is what was so strange. It was green but almost all the dams were a lot lower than we have ever seen them.

Hi Dzombo. A warm welcome on board.

03 June 2018 Part 1/2.
The well known tree at Girivana water hole.

Looks like two tawny eagle youngsters trying to warm up in the early morning sun.

Glistening grass on the S40.

Emerald-spotted Wood-dove at Timbavati picnic spot.

A first for us - Temmincks Courser seen on the S39.

From Olifants camp restaurant. What is that wall in the middle of the river?

Near Olifants gate.

The road down from Olifants makes quite a scenic photo.

Giraffe ahead.

Time to relax at Letaba. Even if there is no game to be seen it is still a magnificent sight.

Copy Cat.

Seen from Letaba camp.

These two came down to drink in the late afternoon.

The courser is very rare, I think.
The wall in the river may be a little weir to hold enough water for the camp water supply to be extracted...I think the little pumphouse is at the bottom there!

Looks like a tusker for aat there at Letaba!

My favourite is the Girivana tree and mist!

We love to hear the word "rare". Think I have another photo of one with a kill on a later date.Richprins wrote: ↑Wed Jun 20, 2018 7:32 am![]()

Interesting about the weir.
Hope Aat can confirm if it is one of the tuckers.
That tree has a certain personality of its own.
Thanks for the lovely comments Flutterby.
Thank you Lisbeth.

Re: JUNE IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVER
04 June 2018 - Only 1 part.
We decided to do the Letaba to Olifants river road as according to the sightings map there had been some great sightings on this road yesterday.
All we got was:
This ficus clinging to a rock face.

And a few zebra close to Olifants.

Back on the tar road we spotted this Koraan.

Joan got this lovely pic of a Blue Waxbill.

The two lookouts for huge troop of baboons. The one looks like someone we might know.

A mommy bushbuck and her youngster in Letaba camp.

We got back to camp at about 14:00 and rested as we were going on a sunset drive.
Late afternoon view of the Letaba river on our drive.

This leopard crossed the road in front of the truck.

And then looked at us as if to say " You can take one last photo."

These two did not seem too concerned about each other.

We also saw a wildcat but I was too slow on the trigger and it came out all out of focus.
Finally sunset.
