Very nice again. It is interesting that elephant fencing - is it still the old Armstrong Fence? \O

I like the zebra drinking! :-0

Thanks nan, Lis, Mel, Flutts, RP & Pumbaa for all the comments and following along. Yip the park still has the Armstrong fence around it RP \O

After a nice break at the main camp we continued our travels south and it turned into a number of great elephant sightings O/\

First up was a big lump just off the road. Initially we wondered if the elephant was ok as there was no movement even when a concerned family member gave it a bit of a prod lol

Image

Getting more concerned, the other elephant upped the prodding

Sure enough the flat elephant was fine and got up a little bit as if to say 'I'm fine... just trying to snooze... leave me alone'

Image

It then flopped back down much to the protests of his friend lol

Elephants aren't designed to lie on their sides for too long, but they do take naps like that from time to time. One of the by-products of lying in that position is that the stomach gets a bit squished so all sorts of gassy noises were resonating through the bush much to our amusement =O: =O:

At Gwarrie pan there were a few elephants dotted around and this big chap who came wandering along with an amazing landscape behind him O:V

There was still no sign of any hyena activity round at Rooidam but shortly after turning onto the dirt track to Hapoor we came across an elephant roadblock 0:

Image

There were a couple of youngsters who were running out of energy and decided to take a bit of an afternoon nap at the side of the road ^Q^

Image

Once the first youngster was resting happily, the other came along and promptly used him as a pillow \O

With the kids asleep, the parents rested their trunks lol

Elephants passed out all over the place! =O:

Lovely shots, Peej.

Ja, when ellies are darted and go down on their chests the first thing to do is push them on their sides or they may suffocate as the stomach pushes up into the lungs...I have the same problem. O-/
