The rest of the drive until we reached the loops nearly at the end of the S46 was extreme quiet beside two pied kingfishers waiting for the catch of the day

and a grey heron on a rock.

Finally in one of the loops where you can reach the Letaba we spotted a sunbathing smaller crocodile who did not feel at all disturbed by us and simply continued the sunbath.

We continued our drive and suddenly two honey badgers crossed the road right in front of us and we already thought that they had disappeared completely as the grass was also here extreme high but we had luck as at least one of them was willing to stop

long enough so that we could take a couple of shots and on top same was extreme closed to where we parked

but we were eyed suspiciously and must say that these were the best shots we so far got from honey badgers inside the park and you even could notice the wet fur and the muddy snout and finally that cheeky glance

but then far too soon they were gone and we could not trace them again but we were so happy about that short encounter and again we had them all to ourselves. We carried on and for sure came across a lot of impalas, African jacanas

The leopard was not around today for sure we checked that spot where we spotted him yesterday extensively but further on we noticed a brown hooded kingfisher who posed so nicely

and our very first burchell’s coucal during that trip we already thought this will be the very first trip without seeing one but luckily today we were successful in finding one.

A short break at Letaba camp was then a must but we did not stay long as we still had a long way ahead of us. We stopped for a green backed heron,

and in end the little one came running, begged for food and the adult bird gave its treasures immediately.
