I also like the croc shots.

And even though I'm not particularly fond of warthogs - they are nice to see in the KTP,
because there they are really rare - I think those photos are really, really good

The African bush must be the most variating scenery in the world...all we still need is snow!

It took quite a while until they clered the road and we simply enjoyed them

I do not know why they were all together there but it was nevertheless a lovely sighting

Luckily there was another juvenile sunbird around but same always stayed a bit hidden in the bushes





but the ever present white fronted bee eaters were indeed willing to pose closer





and they demonstrated strikingly their hunting skills in catching dragonflies.





The whole time we spent here at the look out we did not meet any other car and whilst we then continued we noted another fish eagle



and more marabou storks down in the riverbed.



We then wanted to drive the S56 but when we stood in front of same we noticed that this entrance was closed so we turned around and returned to camp where the cleaning lady was still busy with our unit and we already watched the previous afternoon a huge male baboon running around in camp followed by two Sanpark rangers, well I was busy in juggling with a mango which I wanted to cut up small when I suddenly realized something really huge standing vis-à-vis to me and first I thought it was Timon but it was strange then when human walk you can hear their steps but I heard no steps and lifted my head and realized the huge baboon looking right into my eyes. You cannot believe how somehow large same was as he stood upright. We both did not move and only eyed us for sure he was keen on the mango and then everything happened so fast Timon came running and the cleaning lady started to shout at the baboon and also one of the Sanpark rangers came running as well and so the baboon ran away and left me standing with shaking hands and it took indeed a while until I calmed down from this fright and so Timon decided to drive a bit on the S50 as we do not wanted to disturb the cleaning lady and as it was still quite early.

We left the camp via the back entrance and for sure drove along the S50 as same is leading along the river with always lovely views into same and normally lots of birds to be seen but today the first animal we saw was a bushbuck lady grazing peacefully



on the lovely fresh green grass



but then the birds came into play and we spotted a ground hornbill in a tree

and another curious looking verreaux’s giant eagle owl





who made some strange poses



and we had a great time in watching and photographing same.



We noticed some red-billed hornbills,



a terrapin in the water swam by to take a closer look,



also came across another brown hooded kingfisher



and quite a lot Carmine bee eaters



and in the sun it was already again extreme hot.



We saw a woodpecker



and for sure one of the many woodland kingfishers simply had to be captured as well.

So many beautiful birds again. The north rocks

Yeah that baboon is huge and not scared of anybody and he is creating a huge problem. They need to make a plan quickly before someone gets hurt
