Meanwhile we spent so much time here that it was also now time to check in which we did and after we moved into our bungalow No. 102 with a beautiful view onto the Pioneer dam we took a lovely break as on top it was again one of those hotter days in Kruger.
For our afternoon drive we again paid the Shipandani causeway a visit and the advantage whilst staying at Mopani is also the short driving time from camp to this causeway as well as Mooiplaas. At the causeway we again had a good laugh at the meanwhile piled up crocodiles

and we were happy that our feathered friends were still around and close, the yellow billed stork,

The causeways are always full of life
The bite that the stork is about to swallow is so small that it could easily have been lost

With that size of fish he will be busy if he wants to be full before sunset

I always get a kick out of crocs hoping something will magically "jump" into their open mouths

, again, so many wonderful birds, but the red-billed quell certainly catches one's eye
Good thing the stork doesn't have teeth, or that teensy morsel would have gotten stuck between them

I indeed had such a laugh when I saw how small that fish was but the stork was happy

I remember last year when one croc was indeed successful in catching a large fish at the Balule causeway
