What were the temperatures like when you were there? - Did it get very cold at night, or didn't you notice on the ship?
Love the old man in the driftwood - although yes can see why could be considered a troll.

The photo is tiny in the newspaper, I looked for a link, but it's not on their site. A friend of mine writes a weekly birding article and he used my pic as an example of migrants to look out for that are on their way to the UK over the next month. As the pic was only taken a week ago, the birds will be here soon. I will be posting it here soon, along with others.
More flowers to come Nan. Don't worry, I'm not going to abandon you. I've had my pic in National Geographic before now (one of me, not taken by me). 
(Head gets even bigger ).
I missed the Troll/Lion's head Lis.
The scenery is a bit bland up to now Mel, it get's better, believe me.
Not that much rec PRWIN, but at least it's there and I got credited for it. The talk call came after another birding friend saw it it the paper.
Jill, see above re the article. Temps ranged from +3 to -3 once out of Longyearbyen, +5 when in town first and last day. Not too cold, quite comfortable if not windy.
"Bear" with me with on this one Sprocks, up until now the trip was great, marvellous even, I would have gone home a very happy man at this point having had a wonderful trip up until now. At the end of the day I'm up to at present with posting it went from great to an exceptionally mind blowing experience that carried on for the rest of the trip. I'm not even sure I will be able to find the words to express what we experienced.

The trip so far would have pleased most of us endlessly.
