Luckily I missed your bed(time) bugs last night, so i did sleep well, thank you very much lol

But as usual excellent photos of those creepie crawlies! O:V

And I hadn't known about the gecko. In fact I never ever noticed in a pic how the toes were pointing upwards.
So, thanks for that lesson O\/

Lovely to see newly born elands
Some kind of fly I haven't ID'd yet
"Dead fly walking"

As long as all these surprising creepies are in their natural size you do not note how fascinating they are. The way you present them it looks as if Nature has used all the fantasy available to create them ^Q^ ^Q^

Upturned toes, very practical and imaginative O:V

The mantid is the most "scary" of them all O-/

Thank you sis, very instructive ^Q^ ^Q^

Thanks RP - I think there are four types of Soundgrouse acc. to my book. Also, the enclosed walkway is not to the hide (there is none at KK), but each dune cabin has its own walkway that is enclosed on the sides part way up, on the top w/ slats, and lockable gates. Pretty convenient/safe at night.

Flutts, Mel, and Sis - thanks for the comments (yes, some insects are quite fanciful, and proof positive Mother Nature does drugs… O** )

Will cover our last 2 days while at KK, as they were relatively run-of-the-mill sightings.

We noticed a slender mongoose at the exact tree we had seen one days earlier, and this time it was in the company of a second one - (couple or parent/offspring ? -O- )

Last, but not least, another meerkat sighting.

Even your 'run of the mill' sightings are great!! \O \O

The grey hornbill is not so run of the mill :-0 Nor are the rather "tame" slender mongeese. Usually they just run off when one stops next to them -
no matter how far away or close to the car they are  And then there is the Ludwig's which you don't get to see on every trip (we had none for at least the last two trips...)

Good photos of the lanner ^Q^ O:V

What a pretty grey hornbill! They are certainly not common in the KTP \O

What did you do not to make those slender mongooses run away :-? Normally they are a fast as lightning

Gnawing lions lol

Lovely sequwnce of the falcon having breakfast ^Q^ ^Q^

Flutts, Mel, RP, Sis (SO and I also were quite perplexed as to why the mongooses didn't run away as per their usual. The fact that they were at the exact spot days later probably is a clue, but I don't know what kept them there), and Alf - love reading all your comments, thank you each.
