I know, I can't understand it either!

We then decided to continue with the second plan which was to go down the H7 and get onto the S39 from there, but it was very quiet and apart from this zebra, we didn't take any other pics.

We got back onto the H1-4 and soon found this...2 hyenas sleeping on an impala kill.

While at this sighting, a jeep jockey told us that there was a leopard lying next to the road a few kms further back towards Ngotso, so we decided to see if it was still there.


It was!

He was right next to the road, and didn't seem to mind all the cars.

He then got up, and moved into a culvert under the road, and we noticed that he was injured and was limping. He stayed there a while but kept sticking his head out. This is a video screenshot.

He then moved out into the open and we saw that he was limping quite badly.

He would walk short distances and then lie down, obviously in a lot of pain.

It seemed like he was now trying to get away from the cars, and it was terrible to watch him limping so we decided to leave. A couple of days later I saw on FB that his name is Frikkie, and someone reported that his limp seemed to be getting better so let's hope he recovered!

Between you and Bushcraft the spots are all over, even when I close my eyes. I'll probably see leopards in a dream one of these days

Another great leopard sighting Flutts

I have also been watching for updates on "Frikkie". Since the injury he has been seen fairly often hanging around close to the road He still looks fine, so hopefully it isn't too bad.
