Yes, now strongly considering changing the two camp days if we can get an alternative booking as I think that even if that's all we manage to change and we can get into a bungalow for both those nights it may avert the additional stress. I will check out Mopani.

Cheers Trail.

You know TR , for a relative newby in KNP , it is always good to suss out all the places , having a lot of overnight stays in different camps , and in time you find the ones that you really enjoy , and would like to return to time after time . This is all very good and well , but also means a lot of driving around looking for animals to see , getting to know areas which are good for certain sightings , etc .
Under such circumstances , you may find that you do not SEE very much , do not SEE all the BIG five , and then , the more you drive finding NOTHING , the more anxious and frustrated you become , and you become totally p...ed off with the whole caboodle , and you start looking forward to the end , and wanting to go home .
So , what I'm saying is , when considering alternative places to stay , maybe you should consider staying in fewer places longer . In that way you get to know the surrounding areas better , become more relaxed , and so on . For instance , if I was you , and I do not wish to take up the Tsendze stays , I would rather say remain in Letaba for another two days . It really is a lovely camp , lots of atmosphere ( more than Mopani ) , lots of game around , etc etc .

You know , you are on holiday , and you should enjoy it . Kruger will show you what Kruger wants to , at its own pace ;-) But you must allow it to get under your skin slowly .

TR, you have got so much great advice here that I can imagine your head is spinning! ;-) But please don't let us stress you out over your trip. If you can't change the accommodation, no big deal...at least you'll still be in the park!! O/\ O/\

Yeahh , and if you're lucky ( or unlucky ) , you may even run into another greenie while you're there . But then you will have to wear a green ribbon tied to your vehicle's mirror O**

Trail, to add to you panic, there is no "Bright and breezy" to Croc, as there are constant roadworks on the N4, currently on this side of the Gorge, with stop-go delays of up to 90 minutes!

But we have a travel advice thread, viewforum.php?f=256 which you can peek at!

Would suggest going in at Phabeni should roadworks still be going on...they said it would stop in August? X#X

Hi all

Since my last post I have done nothing but read, plot and plan for our trip.
Cant sleep, cant eat, cant talk to anyone about anything else and get irritated when I have to.

What I have managed to do is refine our schedule a bit so that we have slightly less movement between camps and no camping, which is actually now quite a relief as we don't have to lug camping gear along with everything else ( wife is even happier ^Q^ ). More space for camera gear O\/

If anybody can comment on the changes I would be most grateful.
I realise its not ideal as we still have to move within Letaba and Olifants but that was all that was available at the time.
