One of my friends Craig runs a company called Mosaic Tourism (
check here for more info if interested) and he kindly invited us to join one of his tours to the park the other week. It was a really fun trip and although sightings started out a bit slow they really picked up as the day went on
I say 'slow'... but actually our very first sighting was a caracal crossing the southern access road, but it didn't hang around for photos unfortunately
Around Vukani loop there was the usual mix of species and it's a good point to combine animals against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean.
Near the windmill dam, there was a black headed heron parking off as well as 3 little pigs visiting the waterhole
One of the great things about Addo is that you can get exceptionally close to elephants as they are very used to the vehicles. As the elephant population grows it will be interesting to see whether they ever decide on a cull - if that were to happen I think we'd lose that possibility of close interaction forever.

There were plenty of kudu around on this visit.... this one showing off those big ears to good effect
