The little ellie is gorgeous and so is the Baby Kudu and the jumping hartebeest

As always thank you to those of you commenting and checking out this thread
One of my friends Craig runs a company called Mosaic Tourism (check here for more info if interested) and he kindly invited us to join one of his tours to the park the other week. It was a really fun trip and although sightings started out a bit slow they really picked up as the day went on
I say 'slow'... but actually our very first sighting was a caracal crossing the southern access road, but it didn't hang around for photos unfortunately
Around Vukani loop there was the usual mix of species and it's a good point to combine animals against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean.
Near the windmill dam, there was a black headed heron parking off as well as 3 little pigs visiting the waterhole
One of the great things about Addo is that you can get exceptionally close to elephants as they are very used to the vehicles. As the elephant population grows it will be interesting to see whether they ever decide on a cull - if that were to happen I think we'd lose that possibility of close interaction forever.
This chap came trundling along Ngulube and right past my window
There were plenty of kudu around on this visit.... this one showing off those big ears to good effect

Although I'm not sure if I like that one... southern access... it definitey didn't show for us 
Considering the possibility of culling
and the potenial change in the elephant behaviour, I might want to repeat my visit soon...The close elephant encounters are the best thing to happened to you in the park.

Astounding that you saw a caracal, very rare for you, lately!
Ja, the ellies get cross when they need to be culled, understandably, and it has to be done in family groups, unfortunately. But the science and experience is still available!

It expanded to include the Colchester section back in 2010, so camp Matyholweni is the southern entrance and only a few km from the seaRichprins wrote:Sorry for being obtuse, but has Addo grown so that you can see the sea?

There was a good amount of elephant activity as we approached the Hapoor area.
The warthog certainly have to make way at times
This chap had an itchy bottom which needed scratching
There was also a small herd drinking at Hapoor
At Spekboom we were treated to some more close elephant including some good water shooting action and a tiny little one staying very close to mom
