Day 4, 24 April 2017, Satara - Lower Sabie

After unpacking and having a bit of a rest, we left for our afternoon drive. For some reason Mommo is not that keen on wild dogs and develops a bit of a pelican 0' when watching them. When I asked him what his problem was with them, he replied that they never do anything...I reminded him that we had sat with 2 sleeping lions for over an hour that same morning!! 0*\ However, the Brat had grabbed the car keys and without consultation decided we were heading back down the H4-1 to see if we could find the dogs again! O**

This tree caught my eye on the S79 causeway.

As we approached the area where we had seen the dogs, there were three other cars parked there so we assumed they were still around. As we stopped behind the last car, we saw the dogs coming up the bank towards us and we could see they were probably going to head back towards Lower Sabie. The Brat was very quick-thinking and immediately made a three-point turn, so as the dogs came onto the road we were in the front of the queue! O:V

There were seven dogs and one had a collar.

Mommo seemed to have had a change of heart about the dogs and even took a video of them on his phone! 0' lol Although we were in front of the queue, the Brat was very thoughtful and would occasionally speed up to get ahead of the dogs so that the vehicles behind us could get next to them! And he even managed to get some nice pics whilst driving! ^Q^

Something interesting on the road? -O-

The dogs were quite nervous on this bridge and approached the edge with caution! lol

Image

The Brat doing a great job of driving and photographing at the same time!

We had driven next to the dogs for over 3kms O:V but it was getting late so we eventually had to leave them behind, and we made it through the gate at exactly 6pm! \O If we had just seen a leopard we would have had the Big 7 in one day! O**

It's great that the dogs like the road, and they are so unconcerned with vehicles so it makes it easy to keep up with them. \O Ja, BC had seen the quota of leopards for the month!! lol

Mommo and the Brat clash heads quite a lot, and because the Brat loves dogs I think my dad just gets otherwise to spite him! :O^
