a short one.... easier

13.11.2017
In the early morning a brown Hyena comes to drink and leaves immediately.
A Red Hartebeest arrives then and it is the ball of the Namaqua Sandgrouses. Franco explains to me that it is because the water overflows of the basin that they come to fetch water for their nests (it is the males that transport the water). It seems that here there is less risk with the Jackals

from Google
The female does the incubation by day and the male does a longer shift at night, starting about two hours before sunset and finishing two hours after dawn. The chicks are precocial and able to leave the nest on the day they are hatched. The male brings them water absorbed on the specially adapted feathers of his breast. The chicks grow rapidly; they are fully feathered at three weeks and able to fly at six.
Gangas males have a collar, females are streaked to the neck.

I fill again the bowls of water and the birds arrive, all kinds, all colors. There are two different types of birds, Sociable Weavers and Scaly-feathered Finch, one smaller than the other, in the grey color.

Yellow Mongooses also arrive. Pretty little animals. We distinguish Yellow Mongooses Slender Mangoose by the tip of their tail.
The yellow one is white and the red one is black. It's simple ... yes ... but we do not always have time to distinguish them .... the tip of their tail, especially that the reds are fast and much more shy 0*\

We are going to Union End, we are looking for the Striped Mongooses sighted at Geinab, they are not visible, we are too late.... or.... :-?
By cons a tree "decorated" ... we are looking for where the kill may well be, no trace, the lions have yet to make a binge (feast) according to the number of Vultures. In Kannaguas we find Tawny Eagle, Bateleurs Eagle and en route a Gabar Goshawk
