Well at first sight it was very bushy at that spot with high grass and trees as well as branches hiding a lot but at least I could spot both via the binoculars whilst discovering where to look first so at least the first glimpse on a leopard cub was successful but will same show up too?

Mom finally presented herself

but as already said it was difficult to photograph because often a blade of grass or a branch was in the way but from time to time we indeed had luck in watching her in her full beauty.

In the beginning the woman spoke about cubs but during the whole sighting we indeed only saw one

mom needed a scratch

and for us it was time to change the place where we stood with the car as now we also could hardly see mom and as only 3 cars in total were at that sighting it was never a problem especially when you finally wanted to have a clear view onto the spotted beauties.

and on top both looked very well fed so mom obviously was a more than successful hunter.

In the not far distance elephants were trumpeting somewhere in the riverbed, baboons were shouting and also a couple of ground hornbills were situated in the tree right above us and it was simply such a magical morning on our last full day – Sigh!

A feast for the eyes and ears and we so far drove that road so often and never had luck with only few sightings but I already knew that someday there will be a leopard and today we even got two of them.
