If so it is looking extreme lush and green compared to what we had in that area

That sable in the thick vegetation is then what you get when the grass is high and the bushes are thick - But a sable is a sable

It was hot....can't get closer shade than that!

Off along the Nwatimhiri road, some cloud makes for this interesting pic!

One of those long-tusked cows...

All the ellies were eating the tiny new grass shoots...and they often pull the plant out out, not like other grazers...

A bit further on a dying hippo right next to the road, far from the river still! I put it up on the drought thread...

The ellies are all fat and healthy, they can eat anything. Hippos can really only eat grass...
