Never noticed this watering spot along the spruit before...so this is where the aminals drink!
Old thatching grass thrown on the road in a desperate attempt to stop erosion, which is terrible there!
Water still leaking at our northern neighbours, after 5 years...

(It stopped last year for a while...

)
And a smal lflutterby just before home!

Some birdies at the seed table, I think they are red-headed weavers, non-breeding and females!
And I began work on disposing of the pile of devil's thorns that Dwarf's sister had removed...it is quite a process, you chop them up into smaller pieces using a spade, then lift them into the bag using the big braai tongs! Hard work!
Of course I got an injury...

This tiny fly

:
Leachy looking academic, he likes to sit on the stoep and read Lowveld History etc!
Come to think of it, I think I came with him and Dwarf only joined us later?
The buffalo thorn fruit...

The sun is perfect for late-afternoon shots!
The cracking of horns alerted us to two bulls play-fighting that night!
leachy was not happy with his old braai, so used his new one!

Next morning, a roadblock on the forest walk!
A pretty flutterby in nice light!
And an old giant land snail shell!

And not much else till back near home...my girlfriend and her baby!
These helmetshrikes move tantalisingly close, just not close enough!
And back at home this dead fungus-type on a piece of firewood!

One of the starlings has put on the evening suit
The fungus looks a bit like a tree beehive
The old braai is very big and for few people it consumes a lot of wood and takes longer to get to the right temperature
Nice helmetshrike
Are you sure that it's your girlfriend?
